The voice of my frightened beast sounded tortured. The fight had begun. I quickly opened the snow-white door and went down the stairs. He was standing by the huge window, staring at the round, glowing moon. He turned to me and I felt that he was in a trance. He looked at me. The flame in his eyes was already kindling.
âHelp me, Jane!â he prayed, while his delicate fingers turned into paws with elongated nails and thick fur. âThe potion didn't stop the transformation. It was too weak, but you'll make it!â the hope in his words filled my eyes with tears.
âI'm here, Dean!â I screamed and continued to hold him tightly in my arms. I would risk it all. He had become my life. The goal was to be able to keep his consciousness after the metamorphosis. That night I desperately needed the beast in him to protect me and the human heart in him to have mercy on me! The fur prickled under his fingers and I could feel it giving. The appeal of the others and the white sparkling moon called to him. I had no idea how many they were. Until a month ago, I did not suspect their existence, but now I had to get in shape as quickly as possible, because maybe only I would have the opportunity to save us.
The face of my beloved betrayed the inner struggle of unseen suffering. Actually, that was a good sign. He was able to fight. Perhaps, after all, the potion also contributed. The darkness was overwhelming him. His eyes were filled with anger, and I kept repeating three words, drenched in cold sweat and tears.
âI love you!â wounds covered my hands, with which I had firmly grabbed him.
The sound of an implacable roar broke the silence, and in a few minutes the huge, hideous creature stood before me, snarling with every breath, ready to pounce on top of me to satisfy its unquenchable hunger for human flesh. I fell to the ground, resigned to my fate. My vision was blurring and my hands were sliding across the smooth floor. I didn't dare make a sound, I just prayed with my heart pounding wildly in my chest. To feel me and spare me... The popping yellow eyes did not take their look off me. They were waiting for me to run away. To become the prey of the night. However, I had absolutely no intention of giving up. I waited for his breath to calm down, swallowed the fear, tightened my throat and stood up with my last strength. I raised my head high and reached out to pet him.
âI'm here! Iâm next to you and I won't leave you! If you're going to kill me here, tear my body apart, but I won't move until you come to your senses. We'll do it together!â I whispered, almost leaning against his ear and carefully touching his smooth fur. Its thickness slipped under my fingers, showing the divine creature in all its beauty.
